Money-Free fun in Valencia

Money-Free fun in Valencia

Hi readers,

Can you name something better than having fun while saving money? Today we have some tips to help you have fun for free while you’re in Valencia. These tips are perfect for the world traveler, the new kid in town, or even the seasoned local. Who doesn’t love saving money?

The only way to make these things more fun would be to do them with a friend. If you’re looking for an accommodation in the city and you also want to make some friends, a shared flat is the best option for you. These are perfect for helping you meet new people. They can also help you learn the language and lower your cost of living so you can have more money to spend on food or travel! Let’s get back to our ways to have fun while saving money.

When you’re trying to save money, you have to take every opportunity you can to do something for free. The first thing we recommend you do, especially if you’re new to the city, is to hop on a free guided tour. There are plenty of different groups offering free tours of the city, so a quick search online can help you find one that’s interesting for you. Just to give you a couple examples of tours you can take, the main tours are guided walks through the city around essential areas, pointing out popular sights and monuments. Other tours will walk you around the city showing you important pieces of street art.

Wow, what a coincidence, our second recommendation for having fun in the city is to walk around El Carmen and check out the beautiful street art there! Unique murals climb the walls of this neighborhood, giving life to the streets. If you ask me, this is a perfect place to take pictures to flex on Instagram. Again, a quick search will help you easily find the most popular spots, but you could easily find amazing pieces just by walking down the road.

While you’re walking, you might as well take a walk through the City of Arts and Sciences. This area near Valencia’s port is a futuristic collection of buildings surrounded by shallow pools of water and lush gardens. Around this spot of the city you can also find a planetarium, a theatre, and an aquarium, but all of those cost money. Maybe this is where you’ll want to spend some of the money you saved…

Speaking of art and science, don’t forget that some of the best museums in Valencia are totally free to enter. If you’re interested in art, head to the Museu de Bellas Artes (the Fine Arts Museum) where you can find works by artists like Goya and El Greco. You could also go to Museo Taurino (the Bullfighting Museum) or the Museo de Prehistoria (Museum of Prehistory). Some museums, like the Museo de Historia de Valencia, are only free on Sundays, so make sure you know which ones are free and when you can go.

The last free idea we have is probably one of the main reasons you’re in Valencia. Spend some time with the sand beneath your feet and the sun on your back at the beach. This is the perfect way to spend a day relaxing with some friends, grabbing a tan, and playing in the waves. You could even get lunch and drinks from one of the nearby chiringuitos

Be smart! Save your money so you can go on fun trips while you’re in Spain and get everything you want. We hope we helped you find some things to do for free in the city. Don’t forget to check out shared flats in Valencia. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to leave a comment for us here.
